Shain Niniwum Selápem Jackson

Shain Niniwum Selápem Jackson is a Coast Salish artist from the shíshálh Nation whose work celebrates the beauty, traditions, and stories of Indigenous design. Through his art, he honours Coast Salish culture while creating meaningful connections between tradition and contemporary expression.

After many years practicing law and advocating for Indigenous communities throughout British Columbia, Shain chose to pursue his passion as an artist. His work has led to collaborations with many talented Indigenous artists and reflects his ongoing commitment to cultural expression and creative excellence.

As President of Spirit Works Limited, an Indigenous-owned and operated company, Shain supports the design, production, and sharing of authentic Indigenous artwork, including jewelry, bentwood boxes, paddles, and other handcrafted pieces.

He is also a strong advocate for protecting the rights of Indigenous artists and ensuring their work is honoured with integrity and respect.Through his artistry and leadership, Shain continues to strengthen Indigenous culture while contributing to the syiyaya Reconciliation Movement through creativity, collaboration, and community.
