syaykw, The Sun symbolizes hope, renewal, and reconciliation and the belief that reconciliation is a journey we choose every day. Just as the sun rises each morning, every new day offers an opportunity to build understanding, strengthen relationships, and move forward together.

Inspired by the beauty of the Sunshine Coast and the view down Sechelt Inlet (Ɂalhtulich), the weaving reflects the land and waters that connect us. Soft shades of lavender, mauve, pink, white, grey, and black capture the changing light across the landscape, reminding us of both its beauty and our shared responsibility to care for it.

As Raquel explains:"Every day we are making reconciliation with one another. Just as the sun always rises and sets, we all get that second chance at a new day—every day. Acceptance is the key to this achievement. You are here and we are here. Let's work together as a team. Together Everyone Achieves More!"

This weaving celebrates the power of acceptance, collaboration, and hope, reminding us that reconciliation is built one day—and one relationship—at a time.
